Dr. habil. Andreas Hölzl

I’m a comparative linguist at the University of Potsdam interested in qualitative research in linguistic typology, language contact, historical lingusitics, and the description of languages. I have worked extensively with East Asian languages, such as Tungusic or Sinitic. More recently, I am also starting to work with other languages from around the world.

I have an MA in Sinology, General Linguistics, and Indo-European Linguistics and a PhD in Linguistic Typology, both from the University of Munich. Most recently, I completed my habilitation in General Comparative Linguistics at the University of Potsdam.

On this homepage you can find some information on my publications and on my research interests, as well as some helpful resources that I am currently adding (e.g., an overview of the Ta-Li languages).
